Hi hippocrates.
It's not actually giving me any options to select, just a preselected one from the council which cannot be changed and an explanation box to fill in.

I cannot access the PCN details etc. Let's see what their website grounds page says first.

Understood, thank you.
I will lodge an appeal tonight, requesting for discretion.
I'll keep you updated how it goes

I understand, help is always appreciated on this site.
If they reject my appeal to discretion, is there still the possibility of getting a pcn overturned due to the 0845 number on the back of the pcn? I know that this is not always a guaranteed win, but is it still a way of an appeal?
Kind regards
Only if you can show payment via that number gives them a percentage of the call fee. This used to be a hot topic and appeals were won on it, but not so hot now.

Time to submit grovelling reps on the basis of a simple error when setting the clock. If it had been last Sunday, 27th, you could have said you had failed to reset the car clock to winter time, but no good for the 22nd !!

Think the only thing you can do is a polite ask for discretion.

How long was shopping.

I think Croydon will cancel if this was a first time. The closest I can see in their policy:

9) The motorist displayed a valid Blue Badge / Companion Badge and
clock of which they can provide a copy to the council.
A motorist who is a Blue Badge holder must display the Blue Badge or
Companion Badge clearly and use the clock when appropriate. If the
customer has not displayed the Badge and / or clock, the PCN is unlikely to
be cancelled. If a Badge is face down, the PCN may be cancelled on the first
occasion. Clear advice will be given on how to display the Badge correctly in
future.

Title: Contravention 01 Frith Road Croydon
Post by: Torenaga on October 29, 2024, 10:35:33 pm
Hi Everyone,

My partner took my uncle shopping in croydon and parked on Frith road where she always has parked with the blue badge. She displayed my uncles blue badge with the timer and went to the shops for approximately 1 and a half hours.

When she came back she noticed she had a pcn attached to her car. She was completely baffled by this as it was a single yellow line with no restrictions on that part that she parked on.

So I looked closer and couldn't find the reason why they did give her a ticket, but after looking at the pictures on Croydons website, I noticed that she had put the time as 3pm instead of 2pm on the blue badge clock. She couldn't believe that she had made that mistake, is there anything I could go on with this?

Kind regards
