I've seen your advice in other threads regarding this.

They will ring me with the outcome, I've set a reminder to check with them (I have the manager's phone number) and I can check online.

Yes - I've very little trust for this outfit!

I've spoken with the carpark owners and they're going to request it's cancelled.

I've also recommended they close that space as it's not fair that it's got a barrier down one side, still "open" and there's no way of parking in it without straddling the line.

Remember that a conversation is not worth the paper it's not written on. What will you do is a few weeks down the line you start to get debt collector letters?

And add to a bit of naivety, do you honestly think that the vermin that infest that car park are going to "close" that space when it is obviously perfect for entrapment of more gullible victims? They only make money from the PCNs. What makes you think they'd give up a perfect trap?

Never mind. It's only UKPC. Any appeal will be rejected and you can then try POPLA. If successful, that's the end of the matter. If not, no big deal. No one receiving advice on here pays a penny to UKPC.

It would then go to a claim which will eventually be discontinued.

Are you up for the fight?

I haven't changed the photo on the NtK - there's a faint red blur which is where the timestamp is visible in the bottom right. The photo from there "additional images online" has the timestamp clearly.

They seem to have stretched this image to fit in that field and pixelated the timestamp.

Yes - cropped. It has a timestamp and it's accurate etc.

The file photo may contain a timestamp but the one in the NtK does not. We need to see the original. If you're wondering why, have a read of section 21.5a of the BPA Code of Practice (CoP) here:

British Parking Association Code of Practice v9 (https://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/NEW%20Redesigned%20Documents/Version91.2.2024Highlight.pdf)

Have you cropped it or does it not contain a timestamp?

It's your money and if you pay them then you become part of the problem as you are funding scammers. The "mugs discount", if you use it, leaves tags you for future scamming.

Is that their photo or yours?

Thanks - yeah the carpark is undergoing construction (the whole Mall is!).

The Mall carpark is owned by Bruntwood / Trafford Council so I'm not even sure who to ask.

If I'd just overlapped the bay lazily I'd probably just pay but I squeezed into a bay that clearly should have been fully closed.

I just don't know how much energy I have for this. I know that's what these scummers trade on though.

No one pays UKPC if they follow the advice. Please show the Notice to Keeper (NtK) or the Notice to Driver (NtD) if it was a windscreen PCN.

Never ever use a signed for service to send anything to these scammers. If it wasn't signed for, then all you have is proof that it was not delivered. Not much use.

When we've seen the PCN we can advise on the best appeal and subsequent POPLA follow up.

Have you tried asking the management (not the customer service staff) at the location to get them to get it cancelled?

Also, it appears that there is no bay to the right of the vehicle or it is blocked with some kind of construction. If so, you can see how ridiculous the allegation is.

Let's get a bit more detail first.

Please read the following thread and provide as much of the information it asks for that you are able to provide - READ THIS FIRST - Private Parking Charges Forum guide (https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/)

UKPC charges can usually be defended but will potentially involve them filing a court claim, which they will probably then discontinue at the last minute.

As an aside, 1p coins are only legal tender for debts up to a value of 20p, from memory.

Hi,

I didn't fit in the bay so straddled the buffer on the next bay. Ensured both parties had plenty of room but been hit with an invoice from the good people at UKPC.

Is it worth contesting this? What should be my wording if so?

Also as a back up - if I sent by courier / registered post the payment in 1p pieces does that have to be accepted? If they are wasting my time I'd like to have a little bit of their wasted for their efforts.

The upload on the forum seems broken so it's here
