Then you should be offered a course for one (provided you have not done one in the previous three years - with offence dates being used to calculate that period) and a fixed penalty (£100 and 3 points) for the other (provided you do not have nine or more "active" points).

Alleged speeds were 24mph and 27mph

You are unlikely to have one of them dropped, if that's what you're asking. However, depending on the speeds, the police may show some leniency by offering you a course for one of the two. What were the alleged speeds?

I stupidly failed to notice the change in speed limit on a 3 lane road in Streatham, South London from 30mph - 20 mph. I received two fines within one week. Has anyone had any experience of receiving leniancy in a situation like this. I was hoping (probably naively) that I may be able to persuade the MET to enforce one of the tickets but not the other. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
