I wouldn't bother with POPLA. They will agree with UKPC that the PCs was issued correctly.

As mentioned earlier, this will go through the usual debt collector letters, which you already know, should be completely ignored as they are powerless to do anything, and the inevitable LoC followed by an N1SDT county court claim for the alleged debt.

UKPC will either issue it themselves or, more likely, use DCB Legal. They did try themselves for a period but their intellectual malnourishment in their so called "legal department" was so atrociously bad, they soon realised that it was more cost effective for them to use an experience roboclaim firm of loser legals.

A claim from UKPC/DCB Legal is simply defended using the template defence and is eventually discontinued by them. They only file in the hope that the defendant is low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree and will either capitulate at this stage and pay up or else FUBAR it and they will get a CCJ by default. If neither of these things happen, they will attempt to settle for a reduced amount, which you most finitely don't do and before they have to pay the hearing fee, they will discontinue. I would put money on it.

Unfortunatley not. I did go back to the UKPC site to see if I could retrieve it, but I cannot see that as an option.

I basically said what I've said here and I also attached my RingGo receipt.

If from your experience, you think that POPLA applies common sence to the process ie, that I can demonstrate that I paid a parking fee, but applied it incorrectly, then I'm happy to try?

Do you have a copy of what you submitted as your appeal?

As I noted in a reply further up, I'm surprised they didn't offer a Major Keying error fee of £20, which their Code of Practice requires them to do in such situations.

The receipt is for my personal vehicle which I selected instead of entering the number of hire vehicle that I parked.

Granted, a very silly mistake, but proof none the less that I did pay for parking .... just associated the parking fee to the wrong vehicle.

Does the VRM on the receipt match the rental  who le reg? You can still appeal to POPLA so get that together. You have a receipt for the parking at the location so just go for it. It matters not whether POPLA accept the appeal.

Thanks for ther quick responses.

I hope these links work which contain the requested info except the wording of my original appear, which I didn't keep a copy. I did however explain what happened and submitted a copy of my payment receipt through the RingGo app.

Thoughts and advice welcomed.

As it is UKPC, and as you have probably wasted the best chance of getting this cancelled because the drivers identity is now known, if you have the nerve, you could just let it go through the process of useless debt collector letters and to a claim in the county court which you would defend using the template defence and it would eventually be discontinued and you wouldn't pay a penny.

In future, please come here before appealing, as this is a hire car we could almost certainly have got the matter cancelled as long as you didn't tell UKPC who was driving, but it sounds like from your account of things you did?

If so, what's done is done, and we can explore other options. Please read the following thread and provide as much of the information it asks for that you are able to provide: READ THIS FIRST - Private Parking Charges Forum guide (https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/)

In particular we could do with seeing:

The thread linked to also includes a guide to using Imgur to share images with us.

By the sounds of it, the driver made a "major keying error", so UKPC should at the very least have offered a reduced charge of £20.

I received a private land PCN from UKPC for a 20 minute parking of a hire vehicle.

Using the RingGo app, I selected my personal / private car details when I should have entered the hire vehicle details.

I have the payment confirmation from the RingGo app which obviously matches the time and place on the PCN. RingGo app account holder, card payment holder and hire vehicle driver contract details all matches to myself.

Even though I can demonstrate that I paid UKPC for parking a vehcile, they have rejected my appeal through their process.

Is there sufficient resonableness and common sense in my case to go through the POPLA process?

Thanks!
