I just thought that 1 second after the red may be worth challenging but I guess I'm wrong.
Yes you are. You have to remember that you had already had around 3 seconds of amber, which also means stop unless it is unsafe to do so. But red means stop with no exceptions.

NIP was served to the registered keeper withing the 14 days and they named me as the driver hence i got the nip.

It sounds like I will have to do the course if it's offered.

I just thought that 1 second after the red may be worth challenging but I guess I'm wrong.

Many thanks for your replies.

You can't "challenge" a NIP. It's simply a notice, and you've been notified. It also comes with an s172 request to name the driver, to which you must respond.

If you want to fight it, you have to go to court, which means losing the options of a course or fixed penalty.

Well as you don't seem to deny crossing on red you would need a technical defence. Speed won't be shown as crossing on red doesn't need to be at any particular speed to be an offence.

Was the NIP served on the registered keeper with 14 days? Is the location properly described?

Hello all.

Got a NIP for crossing a red light.

Time was 1 second no speed show on pictures.

Would it be worth challenging or just take it on the chin and do the possible safety course.

thanks in advance.
