Ignore - you are waiting for a Letter Before Claim.

Received new letter today ^ - is the advice to still not do anything?
-
Great, so I'll stop messaging/chasing about it and wait for the LBC and then post here after that?
Spot on.

I agree - all the OP can do now is wait for the LBC then move forward from there.
There is next to zero chance that this will ever have to be paid.
-
Perhaps you could send them a copy of PCN and ask them to cancel it.Otherwise ignore all debt collectors letters and await LBC when you will be suitably advsed.
-
I did not reveal the driver, no.
-
Please confirm that you DID NOT confirm that you were driving in your contact with the operator?
The original PCN is not POFA compliant so they cannot hold you liable provided that you have not admitted to being the driver.
As far as I can see, nobody suggested that you contact the operator to ask for the mugs discount to be re-instated?
This is why it is important that you follow the advice given.
Please confirm that you have not revealed the driver?

Back of PCN:
https://ibb.co/rGk1vk3Q
I've asked for a reduction back to the baseline since this is my first time hearing about this charge but ParkMaven replied saying they can't reduce it now that it's with the bailiffs.
-
Nothing on the back page of the PCN?

Hey all thanks for the responses,
Firstly to InterCity125, the car was my car.
I got the subject access request back. It is just a photo of my car at two different times, as well as the pcn:
https://ibb.co/mr53yF38
I've also spoke to the hotel some more, they've told me:
"I am emailing you regarding a parking fine you have received. The registration provided in the emails we have been copied in to doesn't appear on our parking portal and i am unable to find a parking fine matching the details we have been given."
-
+1, a very good place to start!
-
Additional question for the OP...
Was the car in question actually your car or was it a company car / lease vehicle?

Only certain records are required to be kept for so long, not every piece of information an organisation ever processes.
If they* just record a VRM and don't bother taking any other details it's unlikely to fall within the scope of information they're required to keep for a specified period.
*the hotel might not even store the VRM data themselves in the first instance, they may just receive it verbally and add it straight onto the parking operator's systems.
But the hotel would be required to keep information which led to the creation of the invoice which the customer (or, in this instance, their employer) paid - in this instance that invoice should reveal the cost of the room and the associated parking fee thus demonstrating that the parking was paid for.

Will contact the parking ticket provider and request more information.
Send a Subject Access Request as keeper(*) only - do not confirm or imply that you were the driver even obliquely, e.g. by saying 'I parked'.
* assuming you are - see question above from jfollows.
-
The hotel say that they do not keep records from three years ago?
The law requires that businesses keep six years of records minimum.
-
Will contact the parking ticket provider and request more information. Yeah those messages are the morning of the 15th after I got back from the hotel. I checked more messages and it looks like I left the hotel around midnight (could be just after midnight). Regardless, parking was paid for the night by my company. So it’d be strange, but even if it applied a new charge for a minute after midnight, that should have been covered by my company when paying.
Will ignore the debt collection company as advised.
-
DCBL are powerless and useless debt collectors, and can be ignored.
However, DCB Legal will likely issue a Letter of Claim followed by a county court claim which needs to be defended. For which the Notice to Keeper needs to be seen. Or is this is hire car or similar? Please give us details without identifying the driver.
-
I've removed that debt collectors letter - we don't really need to see it, and you'd left your full name and home address showing.
Those texts appear to have been sent on 15th...
At any rate, I'd get a Subject Access Request sent to the parking company and see what comes back - ideally you need to see the parking charge notice. In the meantime, keep on at the hotel.

Second link is a message I discovered showing I left the hotel the same night I checked in (14th Dec)

If you read the post jfollows linked to above, it advises you how to do this.
-
I’m on mobile and can’t find anywhere to attach photographic evidence, apologies.

If you can’t post the original Notice to Keeper, request it with a Subject Access Request for all personal information from Parkmaven.

Hey. Today I opened a letter for a parking charge from 3 years ago. First time finding out about it. Assume it was sent to a wrong address.
The charge is for £170.
Date of contravention: 15/12/2023
Client: Parkmaven Limited.
Reason for Contravention: Vehicle Remained on Private Property In Breach Of The Displayed T&Cs
Facts:
On the 14/12/2023 I attended a Christmas party at work. My workplace paid for the hotel and the parking, with the instruction to give my car registration in when getting my hotel room and they would sort the rest. I did so and then departed the next morning before check out.
My belief: because the contravention is only dated the next morning and not the evening before when parking started, I’m assuming this is some sort of clerical error on the hotel’s part? My company would have paid for parking based on the car registrations provided to them. Assuming something went wrong in this process. But it’s strange it’s only dated for the following day.
I’ve contacted the hotel. They say they don’t keep records from 3 years ago. I can evidence that I attended the hotel with my company. They said they would “look into it and get back to me”.
Surely the contravention would start from the day I first parked if I wasn’t on the list at all? Doesn’t make sense at all.
Anyway, would appreciate any advice as £170 is a lot of money.
Thanks,
