Just coughing-up is what we call "joining the Mugged Club". So submit an informal challenge, and post -up their response when you get it; they sometimes shoot themselves in the foot. Remember that double-yellow lines need no signs, so the lines need to be in reasonable, (not perfect) order for a PCN to stand.

Your problem is that the council will just reject any reps you submit, so you'd have to take them to London Tribunals with the full PCN penalty in play. Are you up for this ?

right behind where the pavement slides down to enable people to walk across. it is clear in the gsv how badly faded the double yellow markings are when it is cloudy, it was more impossible due to the huge queue of cars on the road that day.

Post by: gosha on July 27, 2026, 04:06:54 pm: I have been issued a PCN for parking on double yellow but the lines are so faded. When I tried to squeeze in a row of parked cars, I did not even notice the signage. Is there an argument I can make?
