Quick question, if I make an appeal within the 14 days and it gets refused, would I still be offered the discount?
Most London councils re-offer the discount for postal PCNs if reps are received within the discount period, and rejected. The only exception is (stupid) Havering, as far as I know. They are not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, of course. If they didn't re-offer the discount, it then becomes a no-brainer for the PCN recipient to take them to London Tribunals, because the penalty remains the same and there are no additional costs. Councils love t he discount facility because it keeps the cash rolling in. If the PCI recipient takes them to London Tribunals, they have to prepare a detailed evidence pack and also pay the adjudication fee, which is £30, I believe. It's all a PITA for them.

Slowing down into the right turn junction, the sign is also slanted, you can see that there is a sign but extremely difficult to read the timing when turning in. It's more visible if you're making a left turn if that makes sense. I acknowledge that there are two signs when turning in on both sides, however the one on the opposite side is very far and impossible to read when your waiting at the junction.
Family member was looking for a right turn (new to the area) was not following sat nav.

I looked at the thread you referred to, but the OP has not given us the outcome yet, or even if he took it the whole way.
Looking at your case, clearly the advance sign is totally obscured, but the right turn into the street involves slowing down to pass the traffic island, then going into the marked-out right turn lane. The signs look very visible on GSV, so this would not be a slam-dunk win at London Tribunals. Croydon, of course, will refuse your reps like they do 99% of the others, (and probably 100%), because they just want your money.
As I said in the other case, it's down to your attitude to risk. You have one plus point, the obscured advance sign, but need to firm up on why you missed the fairly prominent restriction signs at the entrance to the street. Were you also following satnav ? It seems to cause a lot of PCNs in London.

Croydon 53J - Green Lane and Kensington Ave - entering a pedestrian zone
The signage wasn’t noticeable from my POV and there was a tree obstructing the view of the early warning sign just before the right turn. The sign is also very difficult to see with the 30mph speed limit.
The orientation of the sign as you enter is also questionable as raised by a previous user on the same contravention
