I appreciate this is all free, and I don't want to push, but if there was anything you could offer, that would be great.

Thanks

Up to my eyes with frying big fish but I will draft a formal rep. later today - if I wake up.

Thank you, that what I needed to know. I'm not averse to challenging tickets and fines - I've successfully done several already, but only with the information to know whether it was worth fighting. What I didn't know here was whether there were grounds to do so. If it's not a viable option, I'd rather not spend the time on it.  If, however, it is viable, I'm very happy to try. I've posted here to find that out.

Hippo knows about this.

On the contravention no chance. It's rare we can counter a mandatory keep left sign at one of these proxy width restrictions.

They say they do, but I don't want to get caught out and lose the reduced payment rate.

Sorry you are wrong. If you want to pay it now, then please feel free to join The Mugged Club like the other 99% actually or accept my advice vis a vis a representation.

I will  be blogging about this very soon.

Any advice we give to try and beat the PCN would involve challenging, the council rejecting and then taking it to adjudication when the discount option is off the table and it's double or quits.

If your priority it not to lose access to the discount option, then the only real option is to pay it.

If you don't want to lose the discount option, then basically, its's game over, because councils reject virtually ALL reps they receive, because they know that >95% of people then just cough-up.

PCN is pants. They MUST consider representations 28 days from the date of service.

This is a width restriction with a wider central section. There was another vehicle parked before the width restriction which gave the driver a reduced manoeuvring distance before the restriction. The car is 5.3m long, and just fits through the restriction. They elected not to mount the kerb or needing to reverse on the road (because of the traffic) in order to get through the gap, but to go through the central section. In the evidence video, the cars before and after both need to make sharp turns after the parked car.

I suspect that we'll need to make payment (reduced until 22 June), but I wondered if the driver might usefully make representation, perhaps on the basis of the limited manoeuvring space available?
