If the serial number could be read they will probably cancel this provided it's a first such 'offence'.

Title: Halifax Council - parked without clearly displaying ticket - Dryclough lane
Post by: Dandalf on June 11, 2026, 03:17:03 pm
Hi all,

My partner has just attended a hospital appointment at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax.

Upon returning to the vehicle about an hour ago, there is a council issued PCN for "parked without clearly displaying a valid pay and display ticket or voucher".
See attachment below for location and ticket.

Partner had to park on Dryclough lane because it seems the car park is under maintenance/construction until 2029! Leaving them rushed and in a panic to get parked before missing the appointment.
In their hurry and panic, they've simply placed the ticket upside down in the window on the dash as upon first glance, it looked correct as both sides have print on.

Yes it's their mistake, but an honest one as they did purchase a ticket but as you can expect, had bigger things on their mind.

PCN in window(ticket can be seen underneath PCN upside down):

Is this something likely to be dismissed if appealed?
Also, is there any must do's and don'ts when appealing this and correct way to go about it?

Thanks all in advance for any help.
Dan.
