There are countless examples of POPLA appeals on this site, you can search for them.
You may want to read and reference relevant sections of https://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/Sector%20Code%20Templates/sectorsingleCodeofPracticeVersion1.1130426-2.pdf in your appeal.
Write something and post it here for comment if you want to.

Hi,
Thanks great spot, is there a template anywhere on here for an appeal to POPLA?

I would disagree with
The Parking Charge was issued to the vehicle because the ticket purchased had expired. The Parking Charge was issued to the vehicle because the ticket purchased had expired. Please be informed that the signage clearly states that all day ticket is available to obtain from 8am until 6pm then from 6pm until 8am the overnight tariff applies. Meaning that all ticked purchased before 6pm will expire at 6pm regardless chosen tariff.
There is nothing on the sign to the effect that tickets purchased before 6pm “expire” in any way. I would appeal to POPLA on this basis.

Hi,
As expected my appeal has been rejected, I have attached the letter and the signage they have provided.
Do I have any reasonable grounds to appeal further? Any advice is appreciated.

I have just found the ticket, and although I selected 3 hours and paid for 3 hours on the machine, the ticket just states 6pm, at the time I assumed due to bank Holiday they closed early.
I can't obtain any further signs unfortunately, the best is probably Google earth or the attached below from online

Is this the car park with a yellow height restriction barrier at the entrance? The one that clearly says pay and display on the barrier and has a sign at the back that says pay on arrival (zoom in on GSV) making it clear you are supposed to pay on arrival.

If so and you paid on arrival how were you expected to pay for the evening session, return to your car later. As above this is unlikely to be a winning case for them in court. Appeal on the basis the driver paid for the correct time and paid using their machines.

It’s not a fine, it’s an invoice for payment under the contract the driver entered into by reading the signs and parking.
If the signs aren’t clear, this is an avenue for your defence. Do you have pictures of the signs (you don’t) or can you obtain them?
In the longer term, how would a court view three hours of paid parking which isn’t actually for three hours? I suspect they would tend to favour you. However the contract was entered into and if it was clearly stated then it’s hard to dispute. If the signs aren’t clear, then easier to dispute.
If it goes to court, Britannia tends to use DCB Legal who usually discontinue in the face of a defence.
Do you have a parking ticket with an end time for the period paid for?

Hi,
I parked in a car park in Canvey island - seafront, operated by britannia parking.
I entered at 15:29 and paid at the pay machine for 3 hours parking, exited at 18:18.
I received a pcn in the post today which caught me off guard as I thought i was within the 3 hours limit I paid for.
I haven't got a picture of the signage but after reading online, many others have also been hit with the same fine as the signage isn't clear and doesn't specifically mention that any ticket you purchase only covers upto 6pm, no matter how much time the pay machine allows you to select and pay for.
There is a separate charge for after 6pm, only noticed this from parkopedia website after looking this up online.
Requesting for some advice on how to proceed with this pcn please.
Pcn attached
