Title: Re: CN - NTK Bristol Airport stopping where prohibited
Post by: Marzia on June 01, 2026, 05:04:34 pm
Hello,

so these people are crafty! there is no option to appeal based on 'not being the driver'. see below the list of options. I am concerned about using a 'reason' which could be implicating later on? Any suggestions?

Oh yes apologies, I thought you meant for me to send an email. I will proceed with appealing.

The notice you have showed us tells you how to appeal.

You could simply reply with the following;

Charging Notice Number -

To whom it may concern,

I write in relation to the above Charging Notice which I recently received.

Unfortunately, I was not the driver at the material time.

I understand that there is no legal requirement for me to provide further information to you and I will not be doing so.

After taking advice, and not withstanding the above, it's my understanding that there is no viable contract between VCS and the vehicle driver which would allow you to send a speculative invoice.

I am sorry that I am unable to help you further.

Best wishes,

xxxxx xxxxxxxx

Hello all,
my husband is the Registered keeper of the car in question, however he was not the driver at the time of this incident where the car stopped for 1min and 10 seconds at Bristol Airport approach. We do not know the exact reason for the brief stop, nor we are familiar with the airport as we do not live in Bristol so cannot really offer much more information at this stage. The alleged contravention was on 15th May, the issue date was 20th May however the post only delivered it today to our home in London. The CN offers him £60 if paid by 3rd June (in 2 days time!!!). Having read various cases in this portal, it seems we should not pay. I would be extremely grateful if I could receive assistance and advise on how to move forward.

I attach the CN pictures
