It does not apply to Scotland, but councils are still expected to “act fairly”. In practice this usually means 5-10 minutes depending on the circumstances.

But it was not an extension, but a new session with 7 minutes between them. First session end time - 15.04, new session start time 15.11.
I don't know if the statutory 10 minute grace period applies in Scotland, but I suspect not as this website seems to be saying.

Hey all, was advised to have a look here for some advice.

The long and the short of it is I was given a PCN at 1511 but I paid for parking at 1511. I have attached the PCN and the two RingGo receipts.

imageA is my original parking receipt up to 1504 and I was expecting to leave then but there was a change of plan. At I just remembered to check when the parking was expiring and extended at 1511 as show on imageB which is also the same time the PCN was issued in imageC.

Is there any chance I could have this ticket cancelled? I can't find any information about the 10 minute grace period being applicable to Scotland so I was hoping that because both occurred at the same time, I might be able to do something about it.

Any suggestions?

Just had a look at the Parking Enforcement Protocol for Edinburgh.

Quote
1) Pay and Display
PCN Code 05
‘Parked after the expiry of paid time’
 In the case of a vehicle displaying an expired pay and display voucher,
or having an expired cashless parking session, a Parking Attendant will
wait until five minutes after the printed expiry time on the voucher or
until five minutes after the RingGo session has expired before issuing
an instant Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

NOTES
 Parking is permitted during the hours of restriction provided the vehicle
is displaying a valid pay and display voucher, purchased from an
appropriate ticket issuing machine, has another permitted
identifier/permit or has a valid cashless parking session.

It is a bit frustrating that I have paid for parking at the same time the PCN was issued. I had a valid cashless parking session at the moment of the PCN.
