A few things we need to clarify:

• You mention operating a fleet - is the judgement addressed to you as an individual, or to a limited company you operate?
• You mention being unaware of the charge in the first place, but then also mention that you receive 'countless' such charges. This raises a couple of alarm bells. The fact that you don't know how many you receive suggests you don't have a system for effectively managing them. We need to establish whether the reason you were unaware is because you didn't receive any prior correspondence, or because you received it but due to poor filing failed to act? If the former, you would potentially have grounds for set aside. If the latter, your grounds are less compelling

As a claim has been raised and not responded to, judgement has been entered against you. In order to dispute the original matter, you would first need to apply to have the judgement set aside. This would require you to apply for a set aside, which costs £313 payable to the court (potentially recovered from the other side if, following the set aside, you successfully defend the matter). Your chances of success with the set aside depend in part on the answer to question #2 above. If a set aside is unsuccessful, you would not get the £313 back and would still owe Excel £277.

The letter you have shown us is dated 5th Feb - is there a reason it has taken nearly a month to come here? You have very little time remaining - if you pay the judgement amount within 30 days then no CCJ will be recorded against you. If you fail to pay, a CCJ will be added to the public register. If the judgement is against you personally, the CCJ will be against you, and cause significant damage to your credit-worthiness for up to 6 years. If the judgement is against your business, the same will apply but to your business (which may be of particular concern if you rely on credit to finance your fleet).

I have received a letter from the county court claiming that I have to pay Excel parking services limited £277. I was just wondering how or if I can fight this because I wasn't aware that I was even issued a private parking fine to begin with, I have a small scale Turo fleet and receive countless fines because of clients daily. Just needed assistance and hoping to fully ash this out or take this into mediation. Thank you!
