Hi everyone,
I received a PCN through the post last week for parking outside my own home. There's a private car park and it's been permit controlled since 2016, and my permit dates from 2016. My permit has been used in various cars and it's issued per resident rather than vehicle, it's been in my current car since 2014 and there have been no other issues. I initially appealed as I obviously have a permit, the photos used on the PCN didn't focus on my windscreen, crucially cutting off the drivers side of the windscreen where my permit is displayed. I received a follow up asking for photos of the front and back of the permit which I submitted, including an image of it in situ but they have since rejected the appeal stating that my permit isn't valid and that it wasn't displayed.
So which is it?
Admittedly my permit is old and faded but it's still valid. Annoyingly, they've provided further photos where you can see the outline of the permit but no detail of it. They've graciously reduced the fine to £20 which feels dodgy. Is it worth taking to the IAS or just pay the £20?
I'd be grateful for any advice you can give me.
