Walking the motorbike past a "No Motor Vehicles" restriction is still a contravention, because it is a motor vehicle. If this was allowed, every motorbike rider would be doing it, and quite a few (big and fit) car drivers too !
One cannot even walk it on a pavement either.

I have received the full evidence package, is it worth reviewing?

I strongly disagree with the comments above. From traffic-signs-manual-chapter-03 / Pedestrian Zones 6.1.1 it states:

"If a pedestrian zone is introduced on a road that was previously a signed route or was used by significant through
traffic, consideration should be given to providing or changing directional signing to guide
prohibited traffic to use the preferred alternative route, as described in 5.1.2"

Please note they say prohibited traffic and not prohibited vehicles.

@moctey I suggest you call the tribunal first thing as ask for a hearing. A decision on the papers should be avoided for the reasons illustrated by these threads:

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

@moctey well you ignored the advice and you lost, we'll add this case to the unfortunate list I posted above.

Outcome here.

It's really unfortunate you didn't engage with us further as Mr Lane is one of the more well-disposed adjudicators and odds are we could have found something actually worth arguing.

My view on this reflects the traffic management reason for having a "Schools Street". It is to protect the children from moving traffic that has the capability of causing death or serious injury i.e. vehicles at speed.

To say a pushed motorbike has that capacity is ludicrous unless it toppled over and hurt someone.

That said, the contravention will always centre on a prescribed route restriction so going through the signage is the definitive factor.
