If you didn't pay it would eventually be enforced by a firm of bailiffs but it would not affect your credit. The worst that usually happens is they clamp or seize your car.
Thanks
Indeed, yes. It is not possible to receive a CCJ in the process which was carefully written in law to make it impossible.
As I live in West Yorkshire, if I ignored it do I still risk bailiffs and car clamping? Thanks
Well, yes, of course. Bailiffs livelihood depends on tracking people down and recovering the money anywere in England, (and Wales, I think). Not sure about Scotland and Northern Ireland, or the Isle of Man.
JUst so you know what the outurn will be financially.....
- PCN penalty £180
- Charge Certificate 50% add-on £90
- TEC debt registration £10
- Bailiff compliance letter £75
- Bailiff visit to premises £235
So a total of £590. The £90 looks a bargain but if you take them to London Tribunals, your maximum exposure is the PCN penalty of £180, there are no other costs whatsoever. If you win, which I have to say looks doubtful, you pay nothing, of course.
