Hi,
Yesterday (16th Dec 2024) at 16:43pm, myself and a number of other parents got a PCN from the traffic warden on Market Road, Islington, whilst taking our kids to football training. We all park in the same 'pay-by-phone' bays, as the restrictions end at 16:30pm on weekdays which is convenient as that is when training starts.
Yesterday, none of us realised that the council had placed yellow signage on the streetlamps suspending parking from 16th Dec to end of December for electrical works to take place. It was dark and also because we are all in the habit of parking there without an issue, we weren't focusing on signage. Its a very busy road and its a bit tricky getting the kids out of the car safely so that is usually where everyone's head is at.
I expect I'm flogging a dead horse here. One thing I did notice is that the electrical works had clearly not started yesterday in any way shape or form. I also wanted to add that Islington Council are running a campaign to take on obesity in young people and on the same hand, penalising parents for taking their children to football.
Very grateful as ever for any advice you can offer me. Photos attached.
Best wishes
Sandersonic
