I plan to use 'mitigating circumstances' to challenge this PCN.

My adult very high-functioning autistic son has a badly broken ankle (an exacting combination for everyone concerned) and while awaiting surgery, on crutches and in plaster, was very keen to buy certain ingredients from a particular shop to make a healing meal, so I drove him to that shop. (He was insistent that only he would know exactly what he needed)

The only place to stop anywhere near the shop was on a red route and parking bay with limited hours for loading. I thought that off-loading someone on crutches for a brief time was within the rules.

For the record he has a diagnosis from the Autistic Society and receives Disability Benefit (ie it's not a self or maternal diagnosis.)

Tomorrow I shall post the required letter to see a recording of the CCTV (do they only do it by mail to put people off requesting it?). I am hoping it will show my son hobbling on crutches from the car to the shop and back.

We need to see the PCN, so please post it, redacting only your name and address.
DId you just alight your son, and drive off,  or wait for him to return from the shop, then drive off ? There is also an exemption for boarding/alighting, but waiting for hime to return is not exempt.
