Hi all,

First time poster but I have been visiting the forum in the past.

I have recently received a PCN from TFL for the alleged parking contravention - Code 46: Stopped where prohibited (on a red route or clearway)

The alleged contravention happened on Saturday 14/06/25, date of notice 24/06/25 and received the PCN via post on 26/06/2025. It took place on 12-14 Camden High Street, NW1 outside Sainsburys.

I have attached a screenshot of the bay with its signage.

I am the vehicle owner and registered keeper.

I was stopped here for about an hour, as I was under the impression that PCNs had to be physically placed on vehicles.

I have edited my info from the PCN, if this is needed please PM me.

At this point, I have not done anything with this and was looking for advice.

Kind Regards

Yes, they do, except on Red Routes where CCTV can be used. You were on a Red Route.  Am I correct in understanding you, that you chanced your arm knowing you were in contravention, and if a CEO turned up, would have driven off ?

I say this, because there is a bay sign there, albeit facing the wrong way, but it does tell you it is a Red Route, and gives the bay restrictions. SO you'd have needed to be engaged in loading, or a BB holder.

Anyway, whilst you look to be bang-to-rights, there may well be a 'technical'appeal, so wait to see if our administratore cp8759 posts to advise you.

I was parked in the bay rather than on the red line as far as I recollect, but yes I would've driven off had a CEO appeared...
