My wife parked in Old Deer Park car park last Wednesday and purchased a ticket via RingGo, however, it was for the wrong section of Old Deer Park as the RingGo app defaulted to the Old Deer Park Extension car park, which is essentially another area of the same car park.

When she retuned to the car a PCN was attached to the windscreen.

A copy of the PCN  is below, the vehicle is black not blue.

and RingGo receipt

Is there any room to appeal the PCN?

Yes of course you should challenge this. But what do you mean by:

RingGo app defaulted to the Old Deer Park Extension car park

Some councils play fair with these app issues; others don't.

Yes, fair comment.

When you open the RingGo app it only offers the option for the extension car park when you're in the 'nearby' section of the app. You have to search for the correct location code for the main car park, which unfortunately my wife didn't realise at the time.

You are entitled to rely on the operation of the app selecting what is nearby and the name of the car park is pretty much the same - 'extension' to me doesn't say separate car park.

They ought to cancel with that point made plus attaching the session taken out which shows no loss to them.

Forgot to include this sign - tells me that it's added capacity to the car park not an entirely different car park.

The CEO issued the PCN based upon what they knew which was that the car was parked without having paid the tariff for the car park according to their data set. I am assuming that their HHC filters by location and therefore they would not have known what you had done, only what you hadn't.

I would therefore make initial reps on this point.
