Staveley Road J/W Great Chertsey Road PCN
« on: »
Hi,
My friend has received a pcn from Hounslow council for "Failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicle". They drove through No motor vehicles between 8am and 7pm sign.
I'll post up the letter when I work out how to join a picture hosting site.
The only hope I can see is that it happened on Dec 5th and the letter was issued on Dec 23rd but perhaps the 14 day thing only applies to speeding tickets?

Thanks and Happy Christmas

They have 28 days to issue a moving traffic PCN.

This is a familiar location and I think some appeals have been won but at the other side of the restriction.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it all looks like they're bang to rights. I'm sure the signage is fully legal but as an average motorist I wish they would make the no entry point a little clearer with some kind of street furniture or road markings.
But then I looked it up and they are making £1.6m a year from it so it wouldn't be in their interests!

Hey ho, you live and learn  :)

There mat be something on PCN or website wording - post the PCN anyway, redacting only name and address.

Yes it does, and this is what the signs look like on approach on the Gt Chertsey Road: -
Advance sign London-bound

Advance sign Sudbury-bound

The actual restriction signs

The restriction is just after the car park entrance to Chiswick School, and 76 metres from the traffic lights at the Great Chertsey Road.

So the restriction does seem to be well signed, although clearly one could miss the advance sign, but the actual restriction signs are face-on, so would be difficult to refute. The signing actually seems better than when this restriction last came under notice, (on the now defunct Pepipoo forum).

I thought as much but it's always worth asking the experts.
It's a journey the driver is familiar with but hasn't driven for quite a few years so they failed to register the change.
Thanks for the help and Happy New Year.
