Hi guys.

The driver got a parking ticket last week when he was parked on a single yellow line for about a few minutes. The Traffic warden even uploaded a picture of him getting in the car and uploaded it.

Is there any grounds for appeal in this case or he'll need to suck it up as he was in a hurry and did not notice the signage. Thank you.

The key question before advice can be given, is what was the reason for parking there ?

There are two exemptions to yellow lines, (1) loading/unloading, and (2) boarding/alighting passengers

The driver was there to help a friend move in but he did leave the car. Would it be classified as unloading?

Just tell us what went on from parking the car to returning to it to find the PCN. Unloading could be your appeal argument, but much depends on what went on. Stopping and having a quick fag, or cup of tea is not included, the loading has to be completed in a reasonable time. I'm assuming the car that got the PCN was carrying the stuff.

Driver assisting a passenger to unload the car and take the stuff to the residence is perfectly ok; the vehicle does not have to be continuously attended.

So the driver and the passenger unloaded the luggage to a student accommodation about 5 minutes earlier and left the car in park. When the driver returned to the car he saw the traffic warden taking pictures of the car. Then the traffic warden just handed him the ticket.
