You were actually parked I think by a parking sign that has the event line plate with telephone number on as per the pic I posted.

I did suggest filling in a visitor's voucher for that day which could well have resulted in cancellation as they are trying to prevent event parking not resident/visitor parking.

You could still try this at formal stage.

For the record the sign by you did have the event line plate, at least in 2022.

I think your only choice apart from paying the discounted penalty is to try and get them to exercise discretion at formal stage by saying you were a visitor not an event parker, and filling in a permit anyway for that day. They will probably reoffer the discount so you'll be no worse off.

The risk is they insist on the full penalty and the tribunal can't consider mitigation but you could try something about Arsenal men's home matches.

The phone line plate has been removed or fallen off so that's a point. Why put them up if they don't serve a purpose (a good purpose for informing about event days).
