Author Topic: PECKHAM ROAD INTO HAVIL STREET London - No Left turn - no clear signage possibly?  (Read 454 times)

someone turned at the junction and went down the adjacent street, didn't see the tiny no left turn sign on the traffic light on the other side of the street, today trying to find if it is worth my time appealing?

Peckham Road & Havil Street, Camberwell, London, SE5

Worst part is that my company hires the cars and the hiring company always pays the fine straight away and then says if I win appeal they will pay me the money back!

Please see the attached pictures for context, I am trying to find if it is even worth another minute of my time, or should I accept my fate. :'(

Except that, by paying, the appeal process is closed off to you.

Can you confirm, that they send me a letter of Authority and say you can appeal? is this false?

The signage on the lights is fairly clear given there are also two on the left hand side although I don't like the position in advance of the turn.

But paying a PCN usually closes a case - the transfer procedure for hire/lease vehicles is for the company to make reps naming the hirer.

Just to note if you come out of the junction directly across the road adjacent to that road you don't see any of them signs, you just basically cross over the junction.. Its London and they are scum with the tickets.

For example this company, gave me a ticket from parking last week in the Dartford shopping mall, and I paid the parking. but I can't dispute as They never name the driver and they always pay the fine. These are the company cars that they give us. But as you can imagine, if they pay every fine they receive in London without dispute, I will be broke pretty fast.

Is there away to appeal with the Letter of authority from the hire company or are they lying??

A Letter of Authority is OK provided they do not pay the PCN.

They say that they pay and then they give you the letter of Authority. Is that Illigal?

It's not illegal, but totally stupid, because payment closes the process and no appeals can be made subsequently.

Basically they're saying you can have your cake and also eat it too.  Only Boris Johnson seems to have managed that !
