Enfield Council Moving Traffic PCN
« on: July 10, 2024, 03:05:26 am »
Hi Forum, first time poster, hope I can get some help

Enfield Council issued me a PCN and I am within appeal time currently.

It says 38L and I did not follow signage indicating I must go a specific direction

The video does show a blue sign with a direction indicated but it is for traffic travelling the opposite direction, if there is a sign for traffic travelling the direction I did then it is not visible in the video provided. Further to this, the route I went has signs visible from the opposite direction indicating no motor vehicles but the evidence does not display the information or signage visible from my perspective and this was not mentioned in the alleged offence.

Background: There is a T-Junction on Connaught Road, turning onto it there is signage indicating the road is only for vehicles max 2.3m/7’6”; mine is 2.4m/8”. I crossed the white dotted line in the road to the middle to go along the road.

I was unable to reverse and felt a U-turn would not be possible and a three-point turn felt dangerous at the junction. A vehicle followed directly behind and went the same way. I checked the stickied Topic with the spreadsheet and as described there is no postal payment option provided on the documentation.

Any support or advice with my appeal would be appreciated, best wishes.

For meaningful advice with your representations (not yet at appeal stage) please to have a read of
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

and post up here all sides of the PCN, redacting only name and address, a copy of the video, and a GSV link to the location.

Hi John,

Please could I ask if you can still offer advice if I redact the PCN numnber from the PCN as well as my name and address? I'm concerned about sharing that information publically as it would give access to PAY/APPEAL on my behalf which I am not comfortable with.

Many thanks.

Well, you might get lucky and somebody will pay it for you !  Seriously, there is no possible hazard from giving this information; the council know it already and there is no way anybody can do any mischief by going onto the council website. Your name and address is always secure if you redact it, and the pay/appeal page gives no link to it.
