Hi all,

I would be grateful for your advice. I have a residents permit for my car. It was parked in a suspended bay and received a ticket.
The reason I parked there was I do not think it was obvious it was suspended and hence why I would like to appeal.

The parking space is a bay with space for two cars. Each side of it has single yellow and then further bays both sides after the single yellow.

There was a parking suspension side on the single bay further up the street from where I parked (separated from where I parked with a single yellow line) and another parking suspension sign on the row of bays further down from where I parked again separated from where I parked by a single yellow.

There is a parking sign directly next to the 2 bay space I was parked in which had no suspension sign. Hence believing I could park there. You may be thinking why did I not check the other signs but this street is utter carnage at the moment with suspensions due to skips, water works and whatever else and whatever was going on that day obviously caught a lot of people out judging by the number of cars on the street that received tickets and were being removed by council trucks.

Hopefully the pics tell the story better:)

Thanks for any advice!

The bay you were in must be signed with the suspension and it looks clear that the CEO has taken a pic of one in a neighbouring bay.

They may have missed the bay sign in your bay - the side pic showing the hedge is rather artistic as the sign is not easy to spot.

But regardless even if no sign the bay stands alone.

The CEO's own photos show no suspension sign on the bay sign. Typically mendacious photo of a suspension sign on another bay sign. A motorist is entitled to take the sign by the bay where parked as applicable. Of course one can see why they didn't put one on this bay sign; the pole is completely surrounded by a hedge !. However as it is intruding into public space they should have trimmed it.

Dear Wandsworth parking

I make this informal challenge against the imposition of PCN number xxxxxxxxxxxxx on the basis that

The contravention did not occur.

I am a resident permit holder, on this particular day I parked a the bay outside 41 to 43 Oakhill rd. This bay will accommodate two cars. to the left is a single yellow line that runs approximately 11 metres. Then a bay which will accommodate a single car. To the right is a single yellow line that runs approximately 8 metres. each bay has a sign outlining the restriction.

Looking to the left I could see a yellow sign attached to the post of the single bay there, I could also see a yellow sign in the bay to the right. These I now know outline a parking suspension. The post with the parking terms for the bay i was in had no yellow sign in place. As such I did not need to investigate any further as any suspension for the bay i was in was not clearly signed at the relevant location.

In view of this I would ask that you cancel this PCN at this earliest opportunity
