First timer here  :)

On boxing day I received a pcn for being in a bus lane. The bus lane started with just the thick line, no taper, no blue sign and no "bus lane" written on the floor

Any help would be appreciated

Please post a GSV link to the exact location, and also tell us your journey details up to the point of getting the PCN. The photos show you in a bus lane that has a crossing with white zig-zags by it. This means the bus lane broad white line is discontinued for the crossing, then it restarts. No sign is necessary as the bus lane has already been signed at its start: -

and here is the interruption of the line for the crossing: -

Hence we need to know your journey to see if you missed the bus lane signs at the start of it.

As this is a bus lane matter I will make an exception and am happy to take this one on.
I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

It was dark so I couldnt really see but I turned into the zig zag part after the lights. I had travelled on this road for about half a mile by this point

This has been a learning time for me tbh

So you came along the main road, so would have passed the bus lane sign, and would seem to have driven in it before you got to the zig-zags, true ?

Bus lane PCNs can be overturned in many cases due to a quirk of the legislation under which they are issued, but you need to take the council to London Tribunals, and risk the full PCN penalty if you lose. Hippocrates on here can explain it to you and hopefully will soon.
