Distance in the bus lane is 39 metres, so rather too much for a de minimis argument, I'm afraid.

On signage, it looks clearly enough marked

@chi I will make the usual enquiries in respect of the traffic order and the camera certificate, in the meantime are you able to confirm if this sign is still in place? https://maps.app.goo.gl/pvxhJSqBzMYYGrpZA

Also do you have any arguable mitigation, especially anything unrelated to the contravention itself?

There is an arguable defect on the PCN (they have an old ground from the Transport Act 2000 that no longer applies) but on its own it's not much to go on.

thank you for replying.  i hardly drive down that road so to be honest im not sure if the sign is still there but it probably is.  from the camera images on https://parking.salford.gov.uk/Pages/OnlineReferenceEntry.aspx?loadtype=FORMAL it seems that it may not be there but i imagine it probably is.
not really anything mitigating other than perhaps the white line is faded and there is dashed lines appearing over the solid line   as per the video and images on https://parking.salford.gov.uk/Pages/OnlineReferenceEntry.aspx?loadtype=FORMAL

Is there any mitigation unrelated to the contravention? Anything from ill-health to family problems, financial difficulties, problems at work etc?

i don't think there are mitigating issues that you have mentioned or similar.  the only thing i can think of is that the white line is faded and there is dashed lines appearing over the solid line
once again thankyou for your time

@chi do you have a dashcam, or can you get some footage taken by someone sitting in the passenger seat with a mobile phone?

If nothing else we should be able to get a failure to consider, I won't get the FOI responses back from the council before January and in the meantime we need to put in a representation to protect your position.

thank you sorry no dashcam or mobile footage other than the council's cctv footage.
let me know if i should put in representation or what you would like me to put into the representation.  or alternatively i think you have my log in information so you could just put it in yourself if that is easier.
i do greatly appreciate your help.

Would it be possible for you to pop back and get some footage?

i don't think so it is quite far away from me

@chi I've had a couple of ideas but they would require me to make the representations on your behalf, please PM me if you'd like to discuss.
