PCN from Lewisham Council
« on: »
I have received 5 PCN from Lewisham for failing to comply with with a restriction on vehicles entering a pedestrian only zone.

This is a new sign that the council has installed. I have always driven on this road and never got a ticket.

Do i have any chance of an appeal based on the fact that it is impossible to see this sign when driving?

We need to a see a picture of this sign and its context.

Please post a GSV link to the location, even though I suspect it'll be out of date.
Please also re-instate reg.mark and PCN number.

This will be a technical appeal. I will explain later as they tend to mess up the process when an appeal is registered. Totally disproportionate number of PCNs.
I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

What do you mean by technical appeal?

Arguments about how they deal with the representations as well as the signage. Please post up a draft regarding the signage and number of PCNs. I expect you did not realise you had travelled down this route until you received the first PCN. Was there any warning signage? Can you make a video of the route showing the height of the sign as the driver would see?

Sadly this sign could be anywhere :(

By 'in context' I meant could you get a photo of the sign in it surroundings, as you've claimed it was invisible.

Council pics of signage and locations - there are no doubt restriction signs on both sides of the road on both approaches. Looks to me both drivers were speeding and oblivious to warnings and signs - it was a school safety zone before but that wasn't working so they've made a lot of roads outside schools into time-controlled restrictions.
