Access driveway in bus lane
« on: »
I've picked up a PCN for 'being in a bus lane' and my initial representation against the offence has been dismissed so I am intending to do a formal appeal.
But before I do, I'd be grateful for opinions on whether I'm right or TfL are please.
There are 2 photos of my car in the bus lane - one as I 'broke into' the bus lane about 30m before the driveway, and another with my car slightly steering towards the dropped-curb crossover into a church car park, which has been in regular use by many dozens of cars every week for decades.
In my online representation, which described the above scenario, I uploaded a Google satellite photo of the road, clearly showing the bus lane marking in relation to the crossover and car park; and I would be using this as the basis of my appeal in that it seeks to unfairly prohibit access to this car park.

Well, sorry, but without us seeing what you showed TfL, it's quite impossible to give any advice.  So please read this, and update your thread accordingly, after which I'm sure the experts on here will soon come on to tell you if you are in the right.

Thank you Incandescent - and my apologies for not following the normal format for posting. I'm just going out for the rest of the day now, but hopefully I'll be able to try again maybe later or before I go down the coast tomorrow.

I've had a look at your instructions now but, unfortunately, I'm not very tech-savvy and I don't know how to use the image storing and uploading services that you've suggested so I'll have to wait until one of my 30-odd year old kids comes round and hopefully they'll be able to help me.
Thanks and all the best anyway.

FGS: please tell us at least the Council! And name the bus lane.
I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

Better - post up a GSV link to the exact location.
