I am a newbie to this site so apologies if info is not loaded correctly.

PCN is for a failing to comply to a prohibition on certain types of vehicles on Peterborough Road & Clancarty Road in Fulham.

Signage says "except buses, taxi & permit holders"

My Satnav WAZE took me this route so v annoying.

My issue is the signage is very confusing at this junction with car width restrictions either side of a Middle Bus lane.
I thought the signage was a warning of said width restrictions & a warning that IF you used the bus lane you would be caught on camera & fined. I had no idea it also had a prohibition if you weren't a permit holder.

unfortunately this street view must be quite old as it only has the width restriction & the bus lane camera.

Do I have any grounds to contest this?

Any help & guidance appreciated
Thanks
TM

For me the height of the signs is tantamount to poor positioning. On approach it is likely the signs will disappear above the windscreen. Whether this would win at London Tribunals is, of course, unknown; but would be a gamble as it is subjective. Certainly the council will never give way, as they get to keep the penalty money.

Please post the PCN, all sides, redacting only name and address.  Using a satnav in London these days is not recommended as there are restrictions like this all over the place, and satnavs are never up-to-date.  You might have the very latest of latest versions but if the base data is out-of-date, you will still get misdirected

The traffic order is The Hammersmith & Fulham (Clean Air Neighbourhood) (South Fulham West) (Experimental) (Prescribed Routes) Order 2022.

Hammersmith & Fulham has been quite forgiving for first-time contraventions, so I would suggest a plea for discretion in the first instance. Write a draft and put it on here for review.
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor nor a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193.
