Traveled with Hire Car from Leicester to London for the day in June 2024. In Dec I got email from Hire company that Barnet has issued the car with a PCN on the day I was in London (Prohibited turning from Finchley Road into Pattison Road. In their email the charged me £30 for Admin Fee and told me I will be contacted by Barnet. Never heard anything until today ,21 Jan, I received a letter from Hire company telling me they have paid Barnet £130 and charged my credit card for it.
Barnet wont talk to me to find out what has been going on, saying the PCN is not in my name and it is in the Hire Car company name but it is now settled! So far I am £160 out of pocket for a penalty charge that would have been £65 had myself been issued the PCN and paid within 28 days.
Any advice as how I could get my money back?
