Author Topic: Newham Council - 01a parked in a restricted street (temporary traffic order), East Ham E12  (Read 278 times)

There was temporary parking restriction in my street for cutting tree branches. I parked my car overnight in my usual place unaware of the parking restrictions on the next day because I didn't see any parking restriction sign attached to the nearest pole. If there was one I would have avoided parking. But Next day in the early morning around 08:20 I saw PCN attached to my car window.

I appealed to the council to cancel the PCN for the below reason
"the temporary parking restriction warning sign was not attached to the nearest pole where my car was parked. The evidence provided by the council shows a sign from a different location (not from the nearest pole ) from where my vehicle was parked. "

The council rejected my appeal on 26/8/2025. I was offered to pay half the amount within 14 days.

Thanks for your advice.

I think you can just see an unsuspended upright sign right by your car so this is compelling evidence for your case.

Also why are they using a temp traffic order to suspend bays.

Streetview is old but shows a disabled bay and three signs in close proximity.

Thanks.  Received notice to owner. I am thinking of appealing based on your suggestion.
