I parked on Dormer Close (EN5) where there are no clear signs on that road indicating parking restrictions, and there are no marked parking bays/boxes where I parked.

The only sign I saw on this road was a sign indicating you should park with wheels on the kerb past a certain point, which I followed. Based on that, and the lack of bay markings or clear restriction signage where I parked, I believed parking was permitted. I've parked on this road before and not received any PCN.

I then received this PCN for contravention code 12. My concern is that the restriction was not clearly signed at the location where I parked, with no boxes, signs or yellow lines on the road, and the signage present (footway parking instruction) was confusing in context.

I have attached images of both the PCN and where I parked, showing no road signs on that road that state no parking.

It's in a new permit parking area (PPA) - to enforce you must have passed a 'permit parking only beyond this point' (or such like) entry sign so if you can check your route.

PPAs need to be fairly small and have repeater signs if likely to mislead. Thet have no parking bays for permit holders but may have bays for other uses.

Thanks, I did not see the PPA sign and there were no repeater signs or anything like that nearby or on the road. Do you think there is any chance of a successful appeal given these facts?

Can you go back and retrace your route, looking out for entry and repeater signs?

And read this for what should be there to not mislead you.
