Hi all,

Hoping for advice on a PCN I recently received from the London Borough of Camden - contravention 38L - Failing to comply with a sign indicating that vehicular traffic must pass to the specified side of the sign - must pass to the left".

It happened about a fortnight ago - I was riding my scooter turning right from Southampton Place into Bloomsbury Square. I thought I can join the traffic via the "BUS LANE" as this was written on the pavement facing my way, but seems I should have accessed via the left of the sign, into the traffic jam.

Any chance I can challenge this PCN or they have me bang to rights and best way is to pay up?

Vehicle: LX65UKO
PCN: CU69104821

Many thanks!

I think you're probably stuffed with this I'm afraid - but I can see why it was not deliberate given the bus lane marking which I think is the wrong way around? But you aren't allowed in Camden bus lanes?

Thanks for the reply.
Re bus lane, I was trying to be careful not to go straightforward into the bus lane, I think I just clipped this at the edge.

But that would be a different PCN, trying to fight this one now 😂

What I meant was that heading toward a bus lane sign doesn't make sense in Camden.

Anyway, others will have views on whether there it's worth a go.

Thanks @stamfordman - will wait for others to comment, I have until today to file any representations - most likely a plea for discretion?
