I entered the pedestrian street, first signs is at the the street entrance , did not see any sign warning i am about to approach a restricted area. do i have a case hear ?

If you approached along Highbury New Park, you would have passed this sign : -

It doesn't seem obstructed at all. Were you following a double-decker bus by chance ?
There is also an advance sign on Beresford Terrace, although it looks a bit wobbly.
