Haringey Council temporary parking suspension
« on: »
Hi all. Any grounds for an appeal?

Went away for a long weekend, came back and parked up late on Sunday 13th October. Woke to a ticket. Signs weren’t visible as cars were parked in front of them the night before. From a photo they are quite a long way apart.

Suspension was from House 1 to the top of the street, so only about ~30m or so.

Images attached. First time here and have tried to follow all the rules but if I’ve forgot anything let me know.

Does the street have parking bays and are you a permit holder.

I presume no signs when you went away?

EDIT - I can see how that low down sign could be easily missed.

But there are bays and signs in the road - some very low down so you should be aware to check these.

Yes parking bays and we’re a permit holder. No signs when we went away, pitch black with other cars blocking the signs when we came back.

Just to close this one off guys, do you think I should just pay or is it worth appealing due to low signs, short notice and that being our usual parking spot?

There's no rush - wait for others to have a look. I'm suspicious about why they haven't used bay suspensions given there are bays almost up to the junction.

This was 8am to 2pm on one day - do you know what for?

No idea what it was for, and yes quite an odd thing.

Also a whole load of cars didn’t move so whatever they were planning to do they most likely couldn’t do it anyway, but made a handy £1000 or so out of the fines.
