52J PCN; LB Croydon
« on: »
An accident had occurred on the main road through South Norwood in London and was fully closed by the police. The Police were ushering all traffic into a residential side road as there was nowhere else to go. I travelled up this side road following other traffic in an effort to return back onto the main road wherever possible. Unbeknown to me at the time, I went through a very short length of Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN). I have since received a £160 52J PCN for making this manoeuvre.

My question is, is it worth making a case due to the police closing the main road or just accept the fine. I feel it rather unjust in the circumstances and obviously missed the LTN signs. I can't say I didn't pass through this 10m length of road and LB Croydon will likely say I should have seen the signs.

Am I wasting my time or is it worth a punt?
Many thanks

For meaningful advice please to have a read of
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

and post up here all sides opf the PCN (only redact yr name & address - leave all else in),
and a GSV link to the location where you entered the LTN.

I've updated my posting:

This was a 52J PCN (Failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicles) in LB Croydon having driven through a short length of LTN.
I was driving west along the A213 Selhurst Road and was stopped by the police who had fully closed the road due to a traffic accident. All traffic was being ushered right by the police into Oliver Grove. I followed Oliver Grove and turned first left into Holmesdale Road and continued to the end where it meets Park Road. In doing so, I passed through a 10m length of LTN which was right at the junction with Park Rd. This LTN has not yet been updated on Google maps.

I'm wishing to know if its worth making a representation of this case as the police were directing traffic into Oliver Grove.
LB Croydon, however may say I drove through it and should have seen the signs. I'm wondering whether a LA would take the diversion into account and relax their ruling. Or am I just wasting my time??

@blackbirdxx As said, we need the PCN and VRM. Also, there is a big problem with their website if you would like to screenshot it and report back AS IF to make a representation. We win cases on this.  I would search this for you but I can't because I do not have the details. Please do not pay it.
