An accident had occurred on the main road through South Norwood in London and was fully closed by the police. The Police were ushering all traffic into a residential side road as there was nowhere else to go. I travelled up this side road following other traffic in an effort to return back onto the main road wherever possible. Unbeknown to me at the time, I went through a very short length of Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN). I have since received a £160 52J PCN for making this manoeuvre.
My question is, is it worth making a case due to the police closing the main road or just accept the fine. I feel it rather unjust in the circumstances and obviously missed the LTN signs. I can't say I didn't pass through this 10m length of road and LB Croydon will likely say I should have seen the signs.
Am I wasting my time or is it worth a punt?
Many thanks
