I received a PCN from Barnet council for "Entering and stopping in a Box junction" at High Street (EN5), junction with St. Albans road. My work only sent me the letter a few days ago so I have about a week or so left to appeal.

I am new here and this is my first post. I hope I have added everything you need.

My agruement here would be that the traffic ahead suddenly stopped in front of me. I could have emergency stopped before entering the box but this would have caused an accident as the driver behind me was very close and wouldn't have had the time to break and not hit me from behind.
Rather than create an accident I decided to continue as I thought I would clear the box but I didn't. I ended up stopping in the box at the very end of it.
Exiting the box was delyaed because another vehicle decided to do a U turn in front of me.

I also feel the box is to large. Where I ended up stopping does not need to have a box junction. It does not prevent any other vehicle from doing anything they need to do. The small road on my left I don't think you can turn in to from the opposite side of the Rd.

This is a company lease car.

Do you feel there is a way I can win an appeal please?

I don't think you stand any chance of beating that at adjudication nor will the council cancel it.

It is at £65 online, I would pay it today.

If you do choose to challenge it must be in the name of the company.
I help you pro bono (for free). I only ask that a donation is made to the North London Hospice if you can afford it and if you win. I have an 85% success rate across 2,000 PCNs but some PCNs can't be beaten and I will tell you if your case looks hopeless.

This is obviously a contravention for two cars.

Not sure if there any flaws with Barnet to exploit and Mr Mustard would know.

Well, the price should have gone up earlier!
There are known knowns which, had we known, we would never have wished to know. It is known that this also applies to the known unknowns. However, when one attends a hearing, Mr Rumsfeld's idea that there are also unknown unknowns fails to apply because, anyone who is in the know, knows that unknown unknowns are purely a deception otherwise known as an aleatory experience or also known as a lottery. I know that I know this to be a fact and, in this knowledge, I know that I am fully prepared to present my case but, paradoxically, in full knowledge that the unknown unknowns may well apply.

are you the black or white car? (can't read Reg on vid)

I agree the box here is very long and not sure if it's to cover the entrance on left but I think that's a private entrance.

great money spinner for Barnet and likely to see even more at this location due to a housing development under construction, the entrance to which can be seen on the left where the van stopped.
