This is a width restriction with a wider central section. There was another vehicle parked before the width restriction which gave the driver a reduced manoeuvring distance before the restriction. The car is 5.3m long, and just fits through the restriction. They elected not to mount the kerb or needing to reverse on the road (because of the traffic) in order to get through the gap, but to go through the central section. In the evidence video, the cars before and after both need to make sharp turns after the parked car.
I suspect that we'll need to make payment (reduced until 22 June), but I wondered if the driver might usefully make representation, perhaps on the basis of the limited manoeuvring space available?
