Good afternoon,

This is an identical situation to the other few cases for Oldfield Lane South posted this year. I have read their posts and the replies, but after the initial response from the generous members of the group here, I cannot see how these have transpired, so would be VERY keen to see if I have a case to not paying their fine please?

I was visiting the area for a work contract, as I live 100+ miles away. My google maps had taken me down this road and being very unfamiliar with it combined with it absolutely slashing down with rain, I did not notice that there is a pedestrian only zone only for specific times of the day signposted. For all intent and purpose it looked like any other road I had driven down that day!

The exact location is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XFWdE6DWSPJV85iN6 (although this image does NOT show the zone signage).

Date of Contravention: 4/12/25
Date of Notice: 11/12/25
(Making Christmas day the last day of the fake discount to £80)

The full PCN is here:

Any help that can be provided would be so appreciated. It goes without saying that an £80 fine at this time of year under the horrible financial situation we are all in really hurts our family.

Thank you!

... I have now finally been granted access to the video. There was a large wheelbase van doing a 3 point turn in the middle of the road. Surely this is grounds for obstructive view (they conveniently miss out the moments leading up to this and show it from the Van straddling the lane and pulling away).

I would argue that paying attention to road safety in the opposite direction to their sign is certainly enough for an appeal?

Thank you
