Lambeth, Code 52, car/mc prohibition, Cornwall Road
« on: »
I used to take this road but it is now prohibited, anything that can be done ?

It's a bit tricky because it seems perfectly indicated, I don't really have an excuse on this one

If it's a no entry road--why are there traffic lights?

Your picture links do not work, neither here nor on PPP.

I guess to regulate the traffic coming out of Cornwall Road, not the traffic entering.

We need to see the PCN, all pages, covering only your name and address. There may be a wording error.
I help you pro bono (for free). I now ask that a £40 donation is made to the North London Hospice before I take over your case. I have an 85% success rate across 2,000 PCNs but some PCNs can't be beaten and I will tell you if your case looks hopeless before asking you to donate.

It's not a no-entry road, it's open to bicycles, pedibus, horse-drawn-carriages and so on. In any event the traffic lights are there to regulate traffic using the junction, not just traffic travelling into that particular road.

@moctey send this and let's see what they say:

Dear London Borough of Lambeth,

I challenge liability for PCN LJ25786740 because the notice mis-states the time-period mandated by paragraph 5(2)(a) of Schedule 1 to the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003, this should be 28 days from the date of service of the notice rather than 28 days from the date of the notice.

It follows that the penalty charge must be cancelled.

Yours faithfully,

Also, are you able to go back to the location? If so, please find point on the northeastern side of Cornwall Road that is in line with the frontage of 123 Stamford Street: https://goo.gl/maps/HGXFKy2oQGHfKkXM9

Then, measure a distance of 2 metres from that point to the sign (which is the sign you passed on the left in the video).

If the distance between the first point and the sign is less than two meters, Lambeth can't enforce as the sign would be a TFL section of the road.

Lastly, you might want to redact your postal address form the image of the PCN you've posted above.

thank you very much, I'll start trying with that

yes I can go back but I am not to sure to understand what distance to measure

Does it change anything that I did not use and did not intend to use this road, but I stopped there after the footage as I just wanted to park on a motorcycle? I find the footage quite misleading

what about the fact they call me "Paul Louise" instead of "Paul Louis"? I guess it doesn't matter....

Start with the northwestern wall of the building at 123 Stamford Street, this is the wall facing Stamford Street. Draw an imaginary line as if that wall continued across the junction, like this (you'll need a long tape measure and possibly someone to help you hold it in place):

Find the point where this imaginary line intersects the kerb of Cornwall Road on the side where you drove, shown by the red X here:

Measure the exact distance from that spot to the sign, illustrated by the blue line below:

Make sure to take photos to document each step.

I went to measure and on the left side it's just a little above 2m, but clearly above

On the right hand side, it's below 2m but clearly not on the left hand side

Well can you show us your measurements and all the photos please?

We only care about the left-hand side as that's the side of the road where you were.
