I received a PCN recently date of notice 26/05/2026 for 'failing to comply with a no entry restriction'. I was driving down Rushmead and didn't realise it was one way (last time i went into that road there was works being done and they had lifted the one way restrictions) and made a U turn into the road.I drove into Florida street from Rushmead turning right and then realised it was a dead end. The space was too narrow for a U turn in Florida street and I turned into Rushmead

I did not go the whole way down the street, as I was turning I noticed the no entry sign and reversed back out and went the correct way. Conveniently the video they sent cuts off just as I start reversing. The second image is as far as I went into the road before I started reversing.

Do I have a chance if I appeal or should accept I messed up and pay the fine?

The video does show you stopping and starting to reverse and it doesn't look like you were barely past the signs if at all.

Reversing after passing the signs isn't a defence but an adjudicator may well agree you committed no contravention here.
