Bus Lane PCN - Shepherds Bush Road, Southbound Offside
« on: »
I have just received a PCN letter and hoping for some advice.

Date: 27/02/2026
Time: 09:45
Penalty: £160
Notice dated: 27/02/2026

I have seen some information indicating the signage isn't adequate and may be grounds for an appeal.

Could someone advise if this is still a worthwhile appeal or have they fixed the signage recently?

Thanks in advance.

No they haven't done anything at all to improve matters, and rely on most people just coughing-up when the PCN is received. You may find it strange that over 95% of people do this without complaint !

Our Hippocrates will probably have something to say about this perverse bus lane that seems solely there to get shedload of money in. Appeals have been successful here, so wait a bit to see possible appeal suggestions.

Ok thanks Incandescent that sounds promising. I'll hold fire for the moment then.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.
