Bristol - Code 17J CAZ violation - A4 Bath Road
« on: »
Good afternoon All,

I've returned from my holiday to receive
a PCN from Bristol council.

I frequently travel home from work and on this occasion in order to avoid severe traffic it appears my car has rerouted me into the CAZ zone, which I knew nothing about. I understand that this is not a good defence and had I know about the zone I would've firstly, avoided it entirely and waited the hour in traffic, or secondly, paid the £9!

Is there anything I can do to appeal this that is likely to work?

I've posted the letter below.

Please post up the rest of the PCN - there are known mistakes in these PCNs.

WAit for the experts to chip in, but I see that Bristol are still using an 0870 number for payment by telephone, which has been judged a no-no.

Use the search facility (top r-h corner) to search on 'Bristol CAZ' for similar cases  this summer.

Thanks, I'll give it a search and potentially send it off if I don't hear anything from the experts!

Give them a few days - you have until end of month to submit reps in discount period.

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.
