Out of interest, how long should I wait or is it a case of waiting for a response?

Well, legally they have 56 days from receipt to respond, so you'll have to wait for a bit I'm afraid.

Keeping an eye on the amount should give you a clue, if they re-offer the discount you'll see the outstanding penalty go back down to the 50% rate when the rejection is issued. You can then call the council and ask them to email you a copy, which might be quicker than waiting for the post.
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

I've tried checking online but can't see anything, the chatbot is purposely giving me options to either pay or appeal. Can't see the status.

You can get rid of that stupid chatbot (which is basically designed to dissuade you from challenging) by clicking "I don't need any help", which then takes you to https://pcnportal.bradford.gov.uk/

However the Bradford site is a bit rubbish so the only clue is in the amount due, once they issue a rejection the amount due will probably go back down to £35 so if that happens, you know a rejection has been issued.

It's been over a month and have still not heard back regarding their decision?

With most Councils you can check the status or enforcement history online. Sometimes hidden under 'check my PCN', Challenge my PCN', 'Pay me PCN' or similar.

Thanks, I just checked and it states

"There is an outstanding charge of £70.00 for this Penalty Charge Notice. Click here if you would like to pay your Penalty Charge Notice"

If the representation was received by the council on 5 July, the deadline for them to serve a response is 29 August.

In the meantime, the traffic relevant traffic order schedules (should we need to look at them) are:

SCHEDULE 20 – Bus With Flow Lane
SCHEDULE 20A – Bus With Flow Lane
SCHEDULE 21 – Bus Contraflow Lane
SCHEDULE 22 – Bus Guideway
SCHEDULE 23 – Bus Only Street
SCHEDULE 24 – Bus Gate

It's the 31st and nothing received. 🤔

Just received this through the post today.

@farenheit that's an easy win: a notice issued on 31 August cannot be served on 31 August, the fastest you could possibly get it is 1 September.

For a representation received on 5 July the 56th day is 29 August, so the rejection is out of time and a guaranteed win at the tribunal.

Would you like me to represent you?
