I was parked with two wheels on the grass verge, on St Peters Court. There's no Street View available so I've circled in yellow on Google Earth to show where I was parked.

Here's the link to the area:
https://earth.google.com/web/@51.58448679,-0.22041283,70.00082541a,94.14207775d,35y,203.00000216h,0t,0r/data=CgRCAggBOgMKATBCAggASg0I____________ARAA I don't know if it makes a difference but people have been parking like this for many years without issue until a warden suddenly decided that it's considered illegal parking.
Furthermore, that land doesn't function as a footpath so the cars don't block anyone's way.
Note that there's also a sign to the side saying private land (although it's likely that the grass verge is part of the street, which is council-adopted).
Firstly, is it indeed a problem to park there? Secondly, what is the best way to proceed to cancel this fine.
PCN image doesn't embed so I've attached it.
