Barnet Council - Stayplyton Road Car Park 10 second overstay

Came back to my car at the time of my parking expiry (15:08). Below is the email receipt of parking.



PCN issued at 15:08!



Web portal shows contravention time as 15:08:10 to show an "overstay" of 10 seconds.

Which way is best to guarantee this gets cancelled because this one is so predatory  ???

OK so the VRM on the PCN and the VRM on the payment are different...

Receipt says VRM SA69 OTW
PCN says VRM SY10 UWD

So someone made a mistake.... CEO or elpscar?

Yes I just saw that - maybe the OP chose a wrong car on app, which often happens.

Submitted an appeal explaining:
- I did pay for the full time period at the correct location
- It was an honest mistake between two similar registrations I own
- I clearly intended to comply (returned exactly when parking expired)
- Attached both the PayByPhone receipt and the PCN

Result: Appeal accepted and PCN cancelled! ;D

This almost never happens!

Good for Barnet - there are a growing number of councils that take a hardline on such errors, and blatantly disregard their duty to act fairly.

But make sure you double check in future as they won't let you off a second time.
