Hi guys,

Was parked in an industrial estate and took a left on a one way (https://maps.app.goo.gl/UWTLhCsHdoZnRbrx9). I reversed soon as i realised and did not continue entering Watling Avenue (Video does not show this, is it worth requesting the next 10 seconds?). Do i have a leg to stand on or shall i pay? The sign is half covered by the trees and it was after dark.

@leftylefty it might help others if you can share the video as well, please.
Otherwise, forum members will have to view the video on the Barnet Council website (it is a more onerous option).

@leftylefty if you were looking at the image from google street view in March 2014, I'm afraid to say it's badly out of date, this was the sign in March 2023: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fsghKDbdcey99Roi6

However the sign is not positioned directly opposite the junction so it would be interesting if you could get a photo taken from where this chap is standing https://maps.app.goo.gl/fsghKDbdcey99Roi6 as that would give us a much better idea of its adequacy for someone turning out of the junction.

Also while the video shows that the sign for vehicles coming out of the opposite side-road is illuminated, there is no light coming from the sign that would have been facing you:

There are two reasons why we can't see an illuminated sign on the left, either it's out of shot of the camera, or the light is broken. If the light is broken you have a very strong case IMO, so I'd recommend you go and get some photos during the hours of darkness.
